Choosing the Right Floss

Tuesday, September 26, 2017 04:19 PM

Flossing is extremely important to tooth care, and doing it on a regular basis can help so that you don’t have to go to PMDC in Bangkok for complicated procedures on a regular basis. And while it might not seem like it at first, there are a few things to consider when it comes to choosing floss that is right for you.

One thing to consider when choosing floss is whether or not you have large gaps between your teeth. If you do, then you should be fine with un-waxed floss. You might also want to pick up larger floss, such as super floss or dental tape, as it will be better for filling the gaps between your teeth. On the other hand, if you don’t have large gaps between your teeth, waxed floss would be better to make it easier for the floss to slide between your teeth. You also will want smaller floss, as larger floss will be more difficult to fit between your teeth, even if it is waxed. Ultra floss is designed for people who have varied spaces between their teeth, as it can easily fit between small gaps and fill in space in large gaps.

Another thing to take into consideration is something you might not think of at first: Flavor. The flavor of floss is not something that is generally thought of as a big deal, and some floss doesn’t even have any flavor. However, if you do pick floss with a flavor you end up liking, it may encourage you to floss on a more regular basis. On the other hand, if you pick floss that leaves a bad taste in your mouth, it may discourage you from flossing, which could lead to problems with your teeth.

You should also consider whether you want an electric flosser or if you want to floss manually. Electric flossers are generally better for people with braces than manually flossing, as they can be more effective at removing food from between teeth and around the braces. Electric flossers are also effective for people without braces. However, if you are more comfortable with manually flossing, then an electric flosser might not be for you, as it can take some time to get the feel for how to use an electric flosser properly.
